About the Cell
The Psychological Counselling Cell is established in Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh College of Law, Amravati to facilitate well- being of students through guidance and support of Psychological Counsellors trained by Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University, Amravati. The cell is having a moto to resolve the mental health issuesand enhance social and mental well-being of its students. The aim of Cell is to provide a platform for students of the college to address and help resolve emotional and psychological issues pertaining to them. The counselling centre keeps information of the students confidential, this creates security in the mind of the students. The relation between the counsellor and the students rests on trust and Counsellor gives his 100% to maintain this trust worthy relation. This It is indeed a support system provided for students.
The immense aid that the Cell provides is addressing their psychological issues/problems because if these are not properly addressed it reflects in their college involvement, participation in various activities, academic performance and their personality development too.
Objectives of the Cell
- To provide psychological counselling to both male and female students in an accessible form.
- To provide psychological support to students facing mental health issues and accompany them in various phases of their student life.
- To support the students and address their academic and peer-group pressures.
Counsellors
The College has appointed two Counsellors, one male and one female for ease of the students. There is no gender discrimination but the female students feel more comfortable with female counsellors so female counsellors as well as male counsellors are appointed. The Counsellors are trained by Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University.
